Crown Tourney Garb "Alenn´s Collection"

In April we have a Crown Tourney in Nürnberg,Germany.Myself will not be there ( I have to work in my Real Job at a Laboratory),but my Seneshal Odi and her Consort Barobrnadt are there and need some new Clothes.:-)
My fortune was that both have no claim on 100 % authentic or period Materials.So I buy some very good looking Fabrics on the Winter End Sellings,who look very authentic .
On the Garb are borders in Silver and Gold optic,with celtic or semi medieval motifs.
I made 5 Tuniken for Barobrandt and 4 Gowns for Odi .Here you see pieces of the "Collection".The male model is Ruven ,he´s from my shire ,too:-)

Some new Olive Oil Soap

The same I have with Dyeying ,I have too,with Making Soap.I made so much soap for the University ( it was my Display Token ,too) ,that I think I will never make Soap again.

I became on 12th Night some Original Cleared Goosefat from Giano,how I have to make soon as possile to Soap and also He ask me for some olive Oil Soap for his Experiments in Medival Cosmetic and Perfuming.

So ,I cook some new Soap

Goose fat together with Sandelwood ,Rose and Patchouli Oil.Coloured with black Henna
and some OliveOil Soap without any colour and smell.The green colour it have comes only from the Olive Oil.
Both are made with NaOh ,not with KOH ,while I like to have a harder Soap,than I become with KOH.

dyeing

For my class on University 2007 ,i made a lot of wool dyeing ,to show some experiments.After that I have to stop a time with it and wait on new inspiration.

Last week I have some new Ideas and began to try some new mondants
I have take grey,darkgrey and white sheepwool and try as mondant Coppersulfat and Oakapple.The Wool i made with coppersulfat was after cooking green.That cool:-)So i know how I can make green without Birkleafs (I´m allergenic abiut Birkleafs)

Also I have try ones again to dye with Krapp.This time I take a Thermometer for the exact temperatur between 70-80 Grad.But I get brown/orange wool again .Here we see





This last photo show all of the rest wool I made for University.Some of them I have give away for Tabletweaving.I need a new belt and whats better to have some from dyeing wool ,you made by yourself.

long way for start up new

so since my first post a today are a long time ago and today i have the time to show so me last projects

the first is a display token ,i made for the "Garden of Earthly Delights" in the end of february in The Barony of Knights Crossing

Its a little pincushion ,made on a bottle cup






I made 5 different models and was so happy that i have enough ,that anybody can takeone and not only the peole how made some display ,also all vistors and family members

My name is Alenn von Horn ,and I´m a Member in The Shire of the Two Seas in Hamburg/Germany.The Shire belongs to the Society of Creative Anachronismn ,short SCA.
I´m a Member of the Game since September 2006,and I´m happy about it.Since them I meet wonderful people ,how have the same Interestings then me.My center of Interesting is Sewing ,more or less authentic,and I make Soaps and Candles.I´m a member of the Embroidery Guild of Drachenwald,my Kingdom in Europe .
